TARA HARRIS, DNP, FNP(BC), PMHNP-F(BC)

Tara is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), and a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC). With a strong background in nursing and advanced training in primary care and psychiatry, she strives to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients. Her journey in healthcare began with a deep-seated passion for helping others, which led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from North Carolina Central University. Throughout her nursing career, she has gained invaluable experience working in various clinical settings, including community health centers, primary care clinics, and outpatient psychiatry offices. These experiences have equipped her with the skills and knowledge necessary to address a wide range of health concerns and effectively collaborate with patients to achieve their mental wellness goals. 

Driven by a desire to further expand her scope of practice and make a greater impact in healthcare delivery, she pursued a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from East Carolina University with a focus on becoming a Nurse Practitioner. She later earned a doctoral degree in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program from Duke University and a Post Masters Certificate in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program at Herzing University. This advanced education has enabled her to diagnose and treat mental illnesses, manage chronic conditions, and provide appropriate care services to individuals. 

As a DNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC Tara is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical practice. She continuously seeks opportunities for professional development and stays current with the latest advancements in healthcare to ensure that her patients receive the best possible care. She is here to support you in your psychiatric journey with medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. Her clinical interest areas include psychiatric disorders, with special interest in Adult ADHD and Obesity Management in mental health patients. 

In addition to providing direct patient care, she is also passionate about community outreach and mental health promotion. In her free time, Tara enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
